What we help with

Help with everyday technology.

It might be a slow laptop, a small business setup or your first steps with AI. We start with what you need to do and what is getting in the way.

  • Home technology

Help setting up computers, sorting out Wi-Fi, connecting printers and smart TVs, using email and fixing everyday problems.

  • Small business

Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, email, backups and remote help for sole traders and small teams without an IT department.

  • Website services

Simple websites that are easier to maintain, plus help with hosting, performance and SEO basics.

  • Artificial intelligence

An honest introduction to AI: what it can do, where it falls short and how to use it with care.

  • Technology coaching

One-on-one sessions to help you get comfortable with a device or task, at a pace that suits you.

  • Staying safe online

Straightforward help with passwords, scams, backups and privacy, without trying to frighten you.

Who we're for

If technology has ever made you feel a bit lost, you're in the right place.

Older Australians

We'll slow down, explain clearly and never make you feel silly for asking.

Families & home users

One person to ask when the Wi-Fi drops, the printer stops working or an email looks suspicious.

Small businesses

Technology help that fits the way a sole trader or small team actually works.

The Friendly Geek difference

Fix the problem and understand what happened.

Fixing the immediate problem is only part of the job. We also explain what happened and what to try if it happens again.

  1. 01

    We explain, not impress.

We explain what we're doing so the answer is useful after the conversation ends.

  2. 02

    We teach, not sell.

Recommendations come from the problem in front of us, not from trying to sell more work.

  3. 03

    We build relationships.

You can come back to someone who already understands how you use technology.

  4. 04

    No question is silly.

If you're wondering it, someone else is too. Ask away.

A growing library

Learn: clear answers to real questions.

Learn brings together guides on Wi-Fi, passwords, scams, AI and other everyday technology. They're written much the same way we'd explain things over a cup of tea.

The library is still small. New articles will be added as they are researched and reviewed. These are some of the questions it will cover.

  • Why is my Wi-Fi slow?
  • Is this email a scam?
  • What is ChatGPT?
  • Choosing a laptop
  • Password managers, explained
  • Backing up your photos

Meet Caleb

Hi, I'm Caleb, the friendly geek behind Friendly Geek.

I started Friendly Geek after noticing that the best part of the job wasn't fixing the computer. It was seeing someone realise, "I actually understand this now."

That's what I've built the business around: calm, honest help that makes sense. It might be your first laptop or your first business network. Either way, we'll take it one step at a time, and you can ask questions as we go.
